Outdoor Winter Activities in Currie
December 20, 2022
This time of year, it’s so easy to want to avoid the cold weather and just stay inside and be cozy. However, you’d be missing out on the most fun that winter has to offer! There’s still so much to do in the great outdoors in Currie, even in the winter. Grab your skates, toboggans and furry friends and head outside.
Go Skating in Alexandria Park
The skating rink in Alexandria Park is ready to be enjoyed. Grab your skates and mittens and enjoy some outdoor time on the community ice.
Residents and visitors can park at Airport Playground and walk north through Alexandria Park to the skating rink, or you can park along Trasimeno Crescent SW for a shorter walk.
Hit Up the Toboggan Hill
The toboggan hill has a ton of snow and its prime time to bring your sleds and toboggans out for a ride with friends and family. The toboggan hill is located in Currie’s Amphitheatre in Alexandria Park, an easy jaunt from Airport Playground. Bring a thermos of hot chocolate and enjoy an afternoon sliding down the hill.
Join Furry Friends at the Bark Park
The Currie Bark Park is a year-round staple. As a Currie resident and visitor favourite, this off-leash dog park features agility equipment for pups to enjoy and seating areas for their people to meet up with friends. Bring your furry friends for a winter walk at the Bark Park in Alexandria Park.
Enjoy Holiday Lights along Trasimene Heritage Walk
Holiday lights are up on Trasimene Heritage Walk. Illuminating the pathway at night, the lights will be up until February, so you can take evening strolls through Alexandria Park all winter long.
There are so many wonderful winter activities in Currie that you can enjoy all season long. Grab your toques and mittens and we’ll see you out there!
