If you’ve been wondering what steps you can take to make this a better year, you don’t have to go far. Kassandra Heap Psychological Services is here to help you improve your mental health in 2022. They offer relationship and individual counselling options right here in Currie. Opportunities to connect to your inner strengths, build solid support systems and develop a clear direction on how to move forward are just around the corner.
Owner and Registered Psychologist, Kassandra Heap opened the doors to Kassandra Heap Psychological Services in January 2020—just before the pandemic began and just in time to help the community navigate the tremendous mental health challenges that would follow.
She chose Currie as the home of her private practice because no other area in the city felt like the right fit. “I fell in love with the potential of the space. It is a beautiful mix of character and modern charm.” Kassandra’s favorite things about Currie? The revitalization of the area and the fellowship among other entrepreneurs. She also notes the walking trails and dog parks offer amazing opportunities to hold walk-and-talk sessions with clients—an added bonus!
Today, Kassandra and Kobi Rosen, Certified Canadian Counsellor, continue to help clients make meaningful connections with themselves and others.
“I hold space for you. I provide you with important information, tools and resources. Most importantly, I am here for you, with you.” – Kassandra Heap
Kassandra, who received her Bachelor of Arts degree (honours) in Psychology and a Masters in Counselling Psychology, says her therapeutic approach is holistic and flexible, but grounded in research. She helps clients feel heard and understood, while holding space for all of their emotions in a no-pressure environment.
Her practice offers individual counselling, concentrating on such areas as anxiety, depression, identity and life meaning, as well as relationship counselling, focusing on issues like premarital counselling, conflict management, communication skills, infidelity, reconnection or uncoupling. Intensive relationship therapy and wellness workshops are also offerings that are provided.
Kassandra views people as inextricably linked to the world around them. In her space and in the community of Currie, she hopes clients experience the power of human connection. In Kassandra’s words, “If you are struggling, just know this is normal, but you don’t have to be in this alone. We at Kassandra Heap Psychological Services are here to help you strengthen and maintain your connection with yourself and others.”
